receives the attention and care they deserve. From prenatal care to gynecological exams and fertility
treatments to hormone therapies, we offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the unique

Dr. Jill Scherbel
Dr. Scherbel's professional journey began with undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. She went on to attend Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, and in 2011, she received her medical degree. Her path then took her to the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where she immersed herself in the study of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After completing her training in 2016, Dr. Scherbel’s dedication and compassion were manifested when she began practicing women’s health care in St. Louis.
Chanel Wishnuff, NP
Chanel Wishnuff is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She is known for her warm approach and strong commitment to her work, and believes that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and empowered. Women’s health is her passion, and she strives to practice shared decision-making by partnering with patients to create individualized care plans that align with their goals and values.
Chanel’s professional career began at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018. That same year, she began working as a labor and delivery nurse at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, where she developed a deep passion for obstetric care. After seven years of hands-on clinical experience, she pursued advanced training to further her commitment to women’s health. Chanel graduated from the University of Cincinnati with her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner degree in May 2025 and is honored to continue serving women across all stages of life.
Chanel and her husband live in Wentzville with their daughter and golden doodle. As a wife, mother, and nurse practitioner, she understands the many roles and responsibilities women carry. Chanel is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where women feel comfortable, confident, and empowered in their healthcare journey.
Dr. Melinda Auer
Dr. Melinda Auer is a dedicated obstetrician-gynecologist who is thrilled to be joining Scherbel Clinic in June 2026 after providing care for patients in Jefferson and St. Louis Counties as well as surrounding counties following her graduation from residency in 2015.
Education and Training:
B.S. in Biochemistry: Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO (2006)
Medical Degree: St. Louis University School of Medicine (2011)
Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology: Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, OH (2015)
Specialties and Interests:
Dr. Auer provides comprehensive care throughout a woman’s life, from adolescence to menopause. Her particular interests include:
Routine Gynecologic Care: Including preventative care and routine screening for cervical cancer, contraception counseling and management (including IUDs, Nexplanon, and bilateral salpingectomies), breast health, and abnormal uterine bleeding
Obstetric Care: Managing high- and low-risk pregnancies, and offering pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum care.
Hormone Replacement Therapy: Initial evaluation which often includes bloodwork as well as experienced management with traditional and bioidentical hormone replacement therapies
Hereditary Cancer Syndromes: Focusing on the prevention and management of inherited cancer risks.
Personal Interests:
A St. Louis native, Dr. Auer enjoys spending time with her family (especially her two nieces!) and her four Australian Shepherds. She actively participates in advanced obedience and agility training with her youngest dog. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, photography, and watching movies.
Jessica Schwent PA-C
Jessica Schwent PA-C, is a Physician Assistant who earned her undergraduate and masters degree in Physician Assistant studies at Missouri State University. She has a background in Gynecologic Oncology and Primary/Urgent Care. She is thrilled to join Scherbel Clinic and expand access to the compassionate, personalized, evidence-based care that Dr. Scherbel is known for. She is committed to empowering women of all ages and stages of life to be informed, respected, and confident in their healthcare choices.
Grace Freeman, Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Grace Freeman is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who earned her undergraduate degree from UMSL and graduate degree from Maryville University. Her nursing career began in medical-surgical nursing and then expanded into labor and delivery, which is where she met Dr. Scherbel. During her time on labor and delivery, she gained extensive experience supporting women through some of life's most meaningful moments.
Grace is passionate about providing individualized care, promoting long-term wellness, and empowering patients to achieve their health goals. Grace prides herself on being a trusting, compassionate caregiver for her patients. Grace is excited to grow in her role as an advanced practice provider at Scherbel Clinic!
Christine Cadwell Blinn, LCSW CCTP-II
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I’m honored to bring my diverse professional background into partnership with the Scherbel Clinic. Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with women across all stages of life, in a wide range of settings.
My clinical focus includes supporting women through life transitions such as new motherhood, divorce discernment and recovery, parenting, career changes, menopause, and caring for aging loved ones. I also have a special interest in working with women navigating complex relationship dynamics, including experiences of domestic abuse.
Clients can expect a blend of expertise, empathy, and relatability, paired with a “challenge with compassion” approach. My hope is that through our work together, you’ll find greater clarity, personal growth, and renewed strength in every season of life.
